Free Rita's Italian Ice and Free Daily Grind Coffee

This post is for all of my local readers. Last week, I received a magazine size coupon booklet called "Martinsburg Household Savings" in the mail.

There is a coupon for a FREE Italian Ice at Rita's located on page 3. No purchase is necessary and the coupon expires on November 30, 2009.

There is also a coupon for a FREE 16 oz. Iced or Hot Coffee located on page 7. Again, no purchase is necessary and this coupon also expires on November 30, 2009.

Food Lion has Smart Balance Butter sticks on sale buy one, get one free. At my local Food Lion, the buy one, get one free items ring up at half price. Each box was on sale for $1.65. I purchased four boxes and used four $1.50/1 coupons from the September 13, 2009 Red Plum insert--making each box of four sticks just .15 cents. What a fabulous deal! Food Lion: Free Sun Crystals Sweetener

Food Lion has 2.3 oz. boxes of Sun Crystals Sweetener on sale for $1.99. Each box contains 50 individual packets. Use the $2.00 coupon from the September 20, 2009 Red Plum insert and get them for FREE. I picked up five packages of them this morning and paid nothing for them.

Big Lots: Awesome Deal on Martha Stewart Crafts/Scrapbooking Items

A little something you may not know about me: I LOVE Martha Stewart products! So, I'm very excited to share this deal with you. Run to your nearest Big Lots store to score some awesome deals on Martha Stewart crafts and scrapbooking items. Here are just a few of the purchases that I made this morning:

Complete craft kits to make puppets, cards and insects. Each set was $2.00! My son will love making these projects.

Message ribbon and grosgrain bow stickers. They were also $2.00.

Assorted stickers and rub ons (multiple sheets per package) were $1.00 per package.

Craft Projects

I've been feeling crafty since my son began preschool and have enjoyed making the following items over the past few weeks:

Regular size and mini composition books covered in scrapbook paper and embellished with ribbon. A friend showed me how to make these and I was pleased with them. To make them a bargain, I used the free composition books from CVS last month. I'm planning to give as gifts to a few friends for Christmas and will personalize them with their initial.

Gable boxes that I began decorating last night. Each box contains jars of homemade pepper relish and salsa from my recent canning adventure. I have several friends with birthdays over the next few months and will giving these away as gifts.

I found two tear pad coupons while picking up a few items at Food Lion this afternoon.

Save .55 cents on one Morton Season-All product 5 oz. or larger (expires 10/31/2009).

Save $2.00 when you buy one Hunt's Ketchup and one Hebrew National Beef Franks (expires 10/31/2009).

Free Produce Wine Tags

I was happy to find more free produce wine tags today! Save $1.00 on any fresh produce purchase--no wine purchase necessary. I found four of them at Weis and was able to get some bananas and strawberries for FREE. The coupons were on various bottles of Clos Du Bois wines. Check your local stores!

Weis has Welch's Squeezable Grape Jam on sale for $1.50. I purchased two bottles and used two printable coupons HERE for .75 cents off one. Both coupons doubled and I scored some more FREE jam!

Weis: Taco Bell Dinner Kits for .50 cents

Weis has Taco Bell Dinner Kits on sale for $2.00 until Wednesday, September 23rd. I purchased four of them this morning and used four .75/1 peelie coupons (which all doubled) and paid just .50 cents per taco dinner kit. Soft and hard shell varieties are included in the sale. Each box contains taco shells, seasoning packet and salsa.

Fall Festival at Orr's: Saturday, September 19th

This post is for my local readers. Orr's Farm Market is having their annual Fall Farm Day on Saturday, September 19th from 10:00 am until 5:00 pm. I took Aiden last year and it was lots of fun! They will have hay rides, live music, face painting, moon bounce and food.

I found Merona Ultimate Tee Shirts marked 75% off this morning at Target. I paid $2.24 for each of them.

Pet Smart: FREE Dog Food

I received two coupons in the mail from Pet Smart for $3.00 off any purchase of dog or cat food. I headed there this morning and found that cans of Alpo wet dog food on sale for .75 cents per can. So, I purchased eight cans (four in the first transaction and four in the second). All eight were FREE. They didn't even charge me sales tax!

I only feed dry dog food to my dog, Barkley. So, I'll be giving the dog food to my parents for their dog.

Martin's: Great Deal on 85/15 Lean Ground Beef

Martin's has 85/15 Ground Beef on sale this week for $1.98 per lb. I purchased a large package which contained 5 lbs. Then, I used the Martin's coupon for $2.00 off your $5.00 meat purchase HERE and paid just $1.59 per lb. What a great deal! I came home and divided the meat into one pound packages and froze them for use in the future.

Walgreens: Free Film Development-September 16, 2009 ONLY

Transaction 1: I purchased five boxes of Kashi Sunshine cereal-on sale for $2.88 per box. Then, I used one coupon for a FREE box and four coupons for $1.50/1 box discussed HERE. After coupons, my total was $5.52. I paid with a $5.00 Target gift card earned from a previous promotion. My out of pocket balance was .52 cents--approximately .11 cents per box. Plus, I earned another $5.00 gift card for purchasing five participating Kashi products

Transaction 2: I purchased the following products:

Two boxes of Kashi Honey Sunshine cereal (on sale $2.88 each; used two $1.50/1 printable coupon HERE)

Two boxes of Kashi Strawberry Cereal Bars (on sale $2.88 each; used two $1.50/1 printable coupons-no longer available)

One one box of Kashi Grain Crackers (on sale $2.88; used $1.00/1 peelie coupon).

CVS: $20.00 Prescription Gift Card

What a crazy weekend it was for my family! My son was hospitalized on Friday for asthma related breathing problems and I spent the weekend in the pediatrics unit with him. Thanks to the IV medicine, nebulizer treatments and excellent care of the staff, I'm pleased to report that Aiden is feeling much better and was released from the hospital today.

Remember my post HERE about the prescription coupon for Target good on new or transferred prescription? I had one of his prescriptions filled at CVS this evening and they happily honored the Target prescription coupon. So, I now have a $20.00 CVS gift card to use on future purchases. When life hands you lemons......you have to make lemonade!

I'm back...

Sorry for my lack of posting over the holiday weekend. I was up to my eyeballs in tomatoes. My friend and I spent the entire weekend canning spaghetti sauce, diced tomatoes and salsa. Who knew canning could be so exhausting? lol :)


Also, my son began preschool this morning. I'm pleased to report his first day was great! I couldn't wait to go pick him up and hear all about his first day.
