I had to share this one...

I very seldom have my picture taken because I'm usually the one behind the camera. My mother took a picture of the three of us at our family gathering this evening. I hope everyone is enjoying the day with their families. This has been another wonderful year for our family. We have so much to be thankful for. God Bless!

Merry Christmas

I hope each of you is having a very Merry Christmas! I'm enjoying the day spending time with my family. Tomorrow, my son and I are going to North Carolina to visit my sister. We'll be returning home on Monday evening. My husband is staying home and enjoying some quiet time with our dog, Barkley. He will also be working on Monday.

I'll leave you with a picture from our family gathering last night. My son is riding a horse around the first floor of our house. My husband was chasing him with his own "horse"--our kitchen broom. It was the funniest sight ever!!!!! The chase continued for well over an hour.

Have a great weekend!

Chocolate Toffee Spoons

Do you know any coffee lovers? I made chocolate toffee spoons for the first time last night. I had some chocolate leftover from dipping pretzels and decided to give it a try. I just dipped the spoons into the chocolate and placed them on wax paper. I sprinkled the spoons with toffee after placing them on the wax paper. Super easy to make and very inexpensive! My husband loves coffee so these will be a nice addition to his stocking. My photography skills are poor and so is my camera, but I've attached a photo anyway. Enjoy!

Almost free Kellogg's Pop-Tarts

I was at Wal-Mart this morning picking up more chocolate for dipping pretzels. I noticed that select boxes of Kellogg's Pop-Tarts had coupons stuck to them for $1.00 off each box. Most of the Pop-Tarts were approximately $1.56-$1.66 per box. After the $1.00 coupon, the Pop-Tarts would cost .56-.66 per box. Pretty good deal in my opinion. I didn't purchase any of them, but wanted to be sure and share this deal with everyone else. I took one coupon off of the box (see picture above) so I could take a picture to post for everyone. Sorry about the poor quality, but my camera would not cooperate this evening.

Olay Cleansers Moneymaker after Rebate

Go HERE to find out details about the Olay Regenerist Cleanser moneymaker. (Thanks, Common Sense with Money)

I purchased the two cleansers (see photo below) at Walgreens this evening and paid $10.88 with a gift card from transferring a prescription. Since I used the gift card, I spent ZERO dollars out of pocket. The cleansers are priced at $9.99 each at our local store. They are on sale buy 1, get the 2nd for 50%. This explains why each cleanser is ringing up at $7.49 on my sales receipt. I also used the $5.00 coupon from the Proctor & Gamble insert of yesterday's newspaper. I will make a profit of $4.12 after receiving the $15.00 rebate. I also received the two cleansers for free.

If anyone is interested in taking advantage of this deal and doesn't have the $5.00 coupon, please let me know. I have a few extras and will be happy to share. As always, please let me know if you have any questions. I'm always happy to assist! :)

Almost free socks

My son was in desperate need of socks. He's outgrown all of them--except for two pair. So..... I used my $10.00 JcPenney coupon this morning. The socks were on sale buy 1, get 1 50% off. I purchased two different packages.

One package of socks was $7.99 and the other was $6.99. The package of $6.99 socks rang up $3.50 because of the sale. The total was $11.48. After using the $10.00 coupon, the balance was $1.48. Add the .09 sales tax and my final price was $1.57. What an awesome deal for TWELVE pair of socks! I couldn't even purchase them at WalMart for that price!

Free Movie Passes @ Old Navy Stores (Saturday Dec. 13th only)

Old Navy is giving away movie passes at stores on Saturday, December 13th. Go HERE to read all about the promotion. (Thanks, Couponing Craze)

**QUANTITIES ARE VERY LIMITED to first 50 to 200 people in line. Store hours may vary by location. Prior to store opening, customers will form a line outside the store, and a store associate(s) will pass out starting with the front of the line, one bracelet per person good for a movie ticket packet based on the qualifying purchase. One per customer aged 16 or older, while supplies last. Movie ticket packets are limited, so Old Navy cannot guarantee that all customers in line will receive a bracelet. Each bracelet can be used with the qualifying purchase for one-time use only on Saturday, December 13th and must be surrendered at time of purchase in exchange for the movie ticket packet. Certain other restrictions apply. Please see store for details.

I'm not planning to go, but thought someone else might already be heading to Old Navy.

The conversation went like this...

Part 1: (took place at 10:45 p.m. last night)

Aiden: I want chocolate.
Me: It's really late and you already had a chocolate covered pretzel. You can have another one tomorrow.
Aiden: Ok, Mommy.

Part 2: (took place at 7:00 a.m. this morning)

Aiden: Good morning, Mommy!
Me: Good morning, Aiden.
Aiden: I want chocolate.
Me: It's too early for chocolate.
Aiden: But you said so.
Me: I did say so last night, but I didn't mean you could have chocolate for breakfast. How about toast?
Aiden: (long pause) Ok, Mommy.

I can't believe that he remembered. His memory is better than mine.

Awesome deal on Robeez....$9.89

My son wore Robeez for the first two years of his life. The only reason my son stopped wearing them was because he outgrew them. I am pleased to report that the company now makes them for 3-4 year olds. I am going to resist the temptation to purchase them.

I LOVE them and frequently give them away as baby gifts. I normally pay $25.00-$27.00 a pair. Check out this awesome deal on Robeez at Amazon:

Get free shipping when you spend $25.00 or more.

Do you have any prescriptions that need filled?

Many pharmacies put out valuable prescription coupons because they want your business. I use one of these coupons almost every time we need to get a prescription filled (both new and refills). Yesterday, I took this coupon to Rite Aid when I picked up a prescription. I paid the co-pay for the prescription and they handed me back a $30.00 gift card to Rite Aid. Since I don't shop there very often, I immediately took the Rite Aid gift card up to the front counter and purchased a $25.00 Macy's gift card and two packages of Mott's apple juice boxes (they were on sale for $2.50 each). I paid .15 sales tax on the juice boxes.

I was happy to profit a $25.00 gift card and 18 juice boxes for transferring a prescription that needed filled anyway. I'm saving the Macy's gift card to give my mother (along with other gifts I've already purchased) for her birthday in January.

Next time you need a prescription filled, check to see if any prescription coupons are available. I frequently use them at CVS, Walgreens and Rite Aid. If you have any questions, please be sure to ask. I love helping others make the most of their money.

Don't just assume it's junk mail

Have you received anything in the mail this week from JcPenney? If so, I hope that you didn't throw it away assuming it was junk mail. Go here to read all about the valuable coupon that has been arriving in mailboxes all across the country this week.

I was NOT fortunate enough to receive one...but my mother was. She was nice enough to give it to me when I saw her last night. Thanks Mom! You're the best!! I will head to the store sometime in the next few days and buy a candle or something else that costs $10.00. Last time this coupon was mailed out, I purchased a pair of swim trunks for my son and only paid .60 sales tax.

Aldi discount grocery store recently opened in our area . Have you shopped there? If so, please leave a comment and share your experience with us. I have not been there. I have noticed the sales ad in the paper and some of the deals on produce and dairy have been great. I'm planning to give them a try sometime in the next few weeks and will report back. Click here to see some of the highlights of the current weekly specials. (Thanks, Cincinnati Cents)

I'm in heaven!!!

Some of the smallest things in life bring me such joy. I love to bake! Even more than eating my own baked goods, I enjoy giving them away to friends and family. For the past several weeks, I've been busy baking nearly every single day. Yesterday, my baking boxes arrived in the mail. 100 of them to be exact and I am in heaven!

I've been busy adding personalized labels to them that read "Happy Holidays from The White Family" (see above photo) or "From the Kitchen of Sara" to spruce them up a bit. I'll be adding the following homemade items to the boxes: banana bread, brownie bites, chocolate covered pretzels (see photo below) and various types of cookies.

Are you doing any holiday baking this year? If so, what will you be making?

I wish my son would potty train...

The worst part is that this is MY bed-lol :) Enough said.

O Christmas Tree

I am pleased to report that our family WILL have a Christmas tree this year. I sent my husband and son to Kmart on Sunday to purchase the artificial tree. I gave my husband the following guidelines:

1) Find a tree within the amount I was willing to spend (of course he went over that amount)

2) Make sure the tree was pre-lit with white lights (he got this part right)

3) Buy a Martha Stewart one because I like her style (she wouldn't steer us wrong, right?)

The tree he chose would not have been my first choice. I'm sure it will be fine once we finish shaping it and begin putting on ornaments. We don't have many ornaments, so the tree will be pretty bare this year. I used to own quite a few of ornaments, but got rid of them several years ago because I couldn't stand the clutter (I'll save that story for another time). I'll be sure to post pictures of the tree once we get around to decorating it. The important thing is that my son is really enjoying the tree. If your tree is up and decorated, I'd love to see pictures.
