My flowers are blooming...

Flowers are one of my favorite things about summer. I am especially proud that my hydrangea has bloomed for the very first time. It took several years, but this beautiful flower was well worth the wait!

My neighbor grows lavender and was kind enough to share some with me. It smells wonderful in my kitchen!

I can hardly wait for my zinnia and black-eyed susan to bloom. What is your favorite flower?

Herb Gardening

This has been a very busy week for me! The weather was warm and I've been busy spending time outside. I purchased three different herbs (Basil, Dill and Cilantro) at the local Farmer's Market and planted them in a window box and placed them in my kitchen window. Once the weather stays warm, I will move the box outside and hang it from my back deck. This is my first time growing herbs so I'm excited and hope they survive. Wish me luck!

Is anyone else planting herbs? If so, what are you planting?

Spring is here.....

After what seemed like an exceptionally long Winter, I'm happy that Spring has arrived. My family took advantage of the beautiful weather today and worked together spreading new mulch and planting a few flowers. Did anyone else spend time outside enjoying the sunshine? If so, what did you do?
