CVS: $20.00 Prescription Gift Card

What a crazy weekend it was for my family! My son was hospitalized on Friday for asthma related breathing problems and I spent the weekend in the pediatrics unit with him. Thanks to the IV medicine, nebulizer treatments and excellent care of the staff, I'm pleased to report that Aiden is feeling much better and was released from the hospital today.

Remember my post HERE about the prescription coupon for Target good on new or transferred prescription? I had one of his prescriptions filled at CVS this evening and they happily honored the Target prescription coupon. So, I now have a $20.00 CVS gift card to use on future purchases. When life hands you lemons......you have to make lemonade!

Tear Pad Coupons

I found some new tear pad coupons at Food Lion this evening. They were for:

Save $1.00 on two packages of Johnsonville Brats
Save $1.00 on two packages of Johnsonville Smoked or Cooke Sausage
Save $1.00 on any bag of Staty's Pita Chips or Bagel Chips (6 oz. or larger)

I have extras of the coupons if anyone is interested.

Food Lion: Tuna for .33 cents per can

Food Lion had cans of tuna on sale for .33 cents each. They were part of the three day sale that ended today. I purchased three 5 oz. cans and paid .99 cents. I've been making tuna salad sandwiches for my lunch a few days per week.

I'm back...

Sorry for my lack of posting over the holiday weekend. I was up to my eyeballs in tomatoes. My friend and I spent the entire weekend canning spaghetti sauce, diced tomatoes and salsa. Who knew canning could be so exhausting? lol :)


Also, my son began preschool this morning. I'm pleased to report his first day was great! I couldn't wait to go pick him up and hear all about his first day.

Target: Trip 2 for the day

My husband and son were heading to Dick's Sporting Goods this evening. Since Target is right next door, I decided to tag along and grab a few more freebies. I purchased four more boxes of Special K Bars and ten more Market Pantry cheese sticks. After coupons, my total was $4.61 which I paid using the $5.00 Target gift card earned earlier today. Out of pocket was zero for this transaction. I also earned another $5.00 gift card for purchasing four qualifying Special K products.

Adventures in Canning

I spent part of Sunday and a few hours on Monday canning salsa and tomatoes. A friend of mine was kind enough to share her wisdom and let me join her in the kitchen. I can't tell you how much fun we had canning together! Canning isn't difficult-- it's just time consuming and messy. It also requires some equipment and experience (which my friend was kind enough to share with me).

I'm planning to use some of the salsa for Christmas gifts. Does anyone else can? If so, what foods?
