Meat is one of the most expensive parts of my grocery bill. I've been stocking up on meat when it's on sale and freezing extra for use at a later date. Regular price for 93/7 Lean Ground Beef is approximately $3.50-$3.99 per pound. My local Food Lion has value packs (3-4 lbs) on sale for $1.99 per lb. Yesterday, I purchased a package of 3.64 lbs for $7.34 and divided it into three packages. Next, I vaccuum sealed each package to remove the moisture.

Then, I labeled each of the bags with a description of the contents and the date. The bags were placed into the freezer for use in the near future. Above photo was taken after ground beef was completely frozen. Do you purchase extra meat when it's on sale? If so, how do you package it for freezing?
