Martin's: Profit on Butter Sticks

Martin's has I Can't Believe It's Not Butter sticks on sale for $1.79 this week. I purchased two packages and used two $1.00/1 manufacturer coupons from the November 18, 2009 Red Plum insert. My out of pocket total was $1.58. I also received a catalina coupon for $2.00 off my next shopping order. After the catalina coupon, it was like getting two packages of butter sticks for free plus a profit of .42 cents. These will come in handy for my holiday baking and candy making.

Martin's: Keebler Club Crackers for .90 cents per box

Martin's has Keebler Club Crackers on sale for $2.00 per box. The boxes at the Martinsburg store had peelie coupons for .55 cents off (which doubled)---making them just .90 cents per box. Don't forget that the Martinsburg store will only double one like coupon per transaction. If you want to purchase more than more box, then do separate transactions.

Great Deal on Monogrammed Luggage Tags

Here is a little something you may not know about me: I LOVE all things monogrammed! This brings me to another inexpensive and personal gift idea I'd like share with you. While purchasing some books for Christmas presents at Books-A-Million today, I found beautiful monogrammed luggage tags marked 50 % off.

I purchased three of these beauties for just $3.49 each this afternoon. Would have loved one for myself, but they didn't have any letter "S" left. There were an assortment of letters still in stock at the Martinsburg store. These will make great gifts for three friends! The luggage tags are chocolate brown with taupe lettering and a bow made of grosgrain ribbon.

Homemade Inexpensive Coasters

I love making homemade Christmas gifts. Over the next few weeks, I'm going to post some of the homemade gifts I'm making this holiday season for family, friends and teachers. Today, I want to share with you coasters I've been making this weekend. After quick stops to Target, Michaels and Lowes, I went right to work. Mine are not perfect, but I'm still pleased with them.

My son is a happy boy because he loves having cheese sticks for snacks.

I love baking and these will come in handy for M&M cookies and other homemade treats.

Martin's had assorted flavors of Pillsbury Reduced Sugar Frosting marked down to .89 cents. I purchased two containers and used the $1.00/2 tear pad coupon discussed HERE--making them just .39 cents each. This frosting will be a great addition to the homemade pumpkin muffins that I can't stop making.

My family is away at Great Wolf Lodge for the weekend. We're having fun splashing around in the pools, relaxing in the lazy river and going down water slides. I purchased four of them today and paid $13.33. Then, I immediately submitted the $10.00 rebate. Once I receive the rebate check back, it will be like paying $3.33 for FOUR pizzas---just .83 cents each! Don't forget this rebate expires on November 3, 2009.

Food Lion: Kraft Shredded Cheese for $1.00 per package

Food Lion has packages of Kraft Shredded Cheese on sale this week: three packages for $5.00. I purchased three packages and used a blinkie coupon for $2.00 off three packages of Kraft Shreds.

After the coupon and sale, my total was $3.00 for three packages--just $1.00 each! I was completely out of cheese and needed some for recipes I'm making in the next few weeks.

Target: Keebler Cookies for .50 cents per package

Target is running a sale on Keebler cookies this week: Buy two packages ($2.00 each) and get the third one free. I purchased SIX packages of Rainbow Chips Deluxe Cookies (only two are pictured because I already put them away).

Before coupons, my total was $8.00. I used two $1.50/2 Keebler cookies manufacturer printable coupons HERE. I also used three $1.00/2 Keebler Chips Deluxe cookies Target coupons HERE. After coupons, my total was $2.00--just .50 cents per package!

Opinions please...

I made some chocolate covered pretzels for my neighbor's birthday yesterday and added a label, ribbon and scrapbook paper to embellish them. This picture does not do justice to them, but the lighting in my kitchen isn't very good and I was having trouble getting a good photo.

I have a question for everyone. How much do you think I could sell boxes of these for around the holidays? Each box would contain one dozen hand dipped pretzels and be decorated for the appropriate holiday. I dipped thousands of pretzels last year to give away as holiday gifts and really enjoy doing it. I'm wondering if this hobby could be turned into a little profit around the holidays.

Crockpot Broccoli Cheese Soup

This rainy weather makes me want to eat soup! I made Broccoli Cheese Soup a few days ago and thought I'd share this simple recipe with you. I love serving this soup with bread sticks and salad.

Ingredients:

2 boxes of frozen chopped broccoli, thawed

1 lb. Velveeta cheese, cubed

10 3/4 can cream of celery soup

14 1/2 oz. can chicken broth

Directions:

Combine all ingredients in the crock pot and cook on low for 4-5 hours. Stir periodically.

The coupon doubled and my total for three cans was $1.00. A catalina coupon printed for $1.00 compliments of Swanson. It was like getting three cans of broth for FREE. I don't know how long this promotion will last. If I'm able to find details, I'll be sure to post the information for everyone. Broth is a staple at my household and is used to make many different varieties of soup.

Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Muffin Recipe

Fall has arrived in this part of the country and the leaves are beginning to change. I decided to make some Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Muffins for my husband to take to his weekly card game this evening.
